WHY DOES JOBTREAD OPEN
THE WRONG COMPANY?
This trips up a lot of contractors in their first weeks. You log in and land on another company’s page instead of your own jobs. Ten of our own clients asked us this in the last six months. Nothing is broken. Your login is connected to more than one company in JobTread.
WHY IT HAPPENS
You get connected to another company in JobTread when they add you to their team. You also get added as a customer or vendor user, with access to their portal, when they send you a document, message you, assign you a task or add you to one of their jobs.
SET YOUR OWN COMPANY AS THE DEFAULT
- Click Profile in the left menu.
- Under Default Organization, pick your own company from the dropdown.
- From now on, JobTread opens your company when you log in.
SWITCH BETWEEN COMPANIES
Click the JobTread logo in the top left. A list of your companies drops down. Pick the one you want. What you can see inside each company is whatever that company gave you.
A FORWARDED PROPOSAL LINK ISN’T YOURS
Every portal link JobTread emails is unique to the person it was sent to. If a coworker forwards you their link, it is their access, not yours. Do not sign or approve from it.
The fix: ask the company to add you as a recipient using the email address you log in with. They can then re-send or copy your own link from the 3-dot menu next to your name on the access list. If you need to sign, they also turn on Require Signature for you.
YOU WANT OFF ANOTHER COMPANY’S LIST
If you no longer work with a company and do not want it in your list, ask them to remove you. They do it in Settings → Members with the red trash can next to your name. If they send you something again later, JobTread adds you back. Your own company is not affected.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Will switching companies change anything in my own account?
No. Switching only changes which company you are viewing.
Why do I see a company I have never worked for?
Someone in that company sent you a document, a message, or added you to a job, which created a portal for you. If you do not need it, ask them to remove you.
Does each company have its own notification settings?
Yes. When you change your notification settings, pick the right company first. Each one keeps its own settings.
