Step 1: Build Your Cost Catalog

Go to Settings → Cost Catalog and add your most-used materials and labor rates. Keep naming consistent so your team can find items quickly and pricing stays accurate.

Step 2: Create Assemblies for Common Scopes

An assembly is a group of cost items bundled together. A "Roof Tear-Off Assembly" might include labor, dumpster rental, felt paper, and disposal — all priced and ready to go.

Step 3: Build Your Estimate Templates

Create a new estimate, add your assemblies and line items, and save it as a template. Name it clearly: "Standard Roof Replacement - 20 Sq." Load it into any future estimate with one click.

Step 4: Add Selection Fields for Variables

Use JobTread's selection sets to add dropdowns inside your templates — shingle brand, warranty level, etc. Customize estimates on the fly without building a new template for every variation.
